Bootleg Sakura Miku Nendoroid Review

Before I start with the review, I feel I should tell my little Nendoroid related story. It started when I saw Nendoroids on a blog about a year ago, and then I decided I wanted one. But, at that time I wasn't watching anime or reading manga of any kind, but I did listen to Vocaloid. Unfortunately, I missed the rereleases, and then I missed the Cheerful Japan. Thing is, I don't stalk Good Smile Company, so I rarely make it for preorders of any Nendos that hold any interest to me. So, after that, I found Sakura Miku (the official one) preorders, and I missed that by 12 hours, because Japan time sucks. To skip a bit, Gumi Nendoroid preorders came, I ordered her a few hour after that, and she'll be here in February. And I bet my mom that bootleg Nendoroids sucked, so she bought this one of eBay for $10.
ON WITH THE REVIEW!!!

So this is the box she came in.... Yikes. It was practically falling apart. But she is used, so I guess that makes it more acceptable.

Here she is in her tray. The thing behind the face to the right are the cherries.
And after I took her out from that tray, I was really surprised. Her paint job wasn't that bad at all (although one of her twin tails fell out immediately...). The only real defects I could find were that her tie was askew, and she has a few scratches and a small stain on her head (pictured above).
This got me kinda frustrated. Her bangs wouldn't come off. It took quite a bit of pulling. But now it's better, probably just got stuck after being on for a while.
Notice the brown and pink headphones, and tell me they're not cute! It's a really adorable, and it makes all the difference.
All unassembled; the back hair piece came off way easier than the bangs.
New face! Her hands twist, too, which is surprising for a bootleg to be that detailed ( at least to newbie me).
Her bent arm went on easily, and she comes with a little fist to hold her leek with.
Now, her she is apologizing for the stand that is not worth crap. I don't know whether it was my newbie-ness screwing it up, or the stand itself is just junk (probably the latter), but her legs would not fit in those slots. And there are now cherries in her hair.

See how unshiny her face is? This faceplate and the Hatchune-esque one are very matte. I wish I could say the same for this next one...

It doubly sucks because only half of her face is shiny. Boooooo.

Better pic of the cherry blossoms on her hair...
And her bent leg, which was hard to put the joint in.

Honestly, she's adorable. And pink. Very pink. Her faceplates are all of decent quality, Her paint job is ok, and I think she'll look good next to Gumi. Sure, her twin tails are a bit prone to falling off, or the cherries are a tad stubborn than it comes to putting them in, but that's manageable. My only real complaint would have to be the stand. If she didn't have all that hair to stand her up, she'd be permanently laying down. But, other than that, she's fine. She was completely worth the 10 bucks that was spent on her, and because she was so cheap, she'll be going places. Like DisneyWorld, tomorrow night (maybe).

New Dolly!

I have an awesome family. Really, I do. I have parents who will take me and my sister on roller coaster tours and cruises. I have an uncle who lives literally 5 minutes away from Hershey Park. And I also have an aunt and uncle who fully support my dolly love. So they got me a Hujoo for my birthday.

And she's perfect. My very first 'bjd'(I think they're off-topic at Den of Angels....). Since this is my first blank doll, I've been everywhere trying to gather faceup supplies. I have MSC coming in on the seventh, buying pastels tomorrow, and looking for gloss and single watercolor pencils. As well as rubbing alcohol, to wipe away my destined mistakes. The only thing she currently has are eyes(soon to be replaced), clothes, and a wig.

Ain't she purty? The wig was made by me, and it took about six hours altogether. But it turned out really nice. Except it's not as golden in person, so I blame lighting/IPhone camera.
The clothes are a mix of a Barbie shirt and a Bratz skirt, which both fit nicely. Her eyes are actually a dark-ish blue, but I can't get any camera to pick them up. I want to get her these eyes: http://ersaflora.ipower.com/?p=1304 , but don't really have fifteen bucks to spend on them. I need that money for something else, but that's a story for another post.

Oops, forgot to mention that she's a normal-skin Berry, currently without a name. And that she will eventually have a chocolate Berry sister, Nudge(from Maximum Ride).

The Sims 2 Seasons: What's Up?

If you've ever been on EA's Sims 3 forums, you'll see countless threads about wanting Seasons for Sims 3. Having joined the party late, I never really played Sims 2, so I've never experienced Seasons. I do have a copy of the Sims 2 base game though, which I got a few days before I found Sims 3 at a thrift store. Needless to say, I didn't look back.

But back to present day. Or yesterday. I was browsing through my local Goodwill when I found Seasons. For $1. So now I have the game sitting in my room, waiting to be installed. I'm actually kind of eager to see what all the hype is about.

Unicorns and Dual-Screened Devices

My new addiction

Well, I'm back! And nearing the end of my vacation, I've learned a few things.I LOVE THOSE ADORABLE LIL UNICORNS UP THERE!!! They completely blow any 'family moral' lesson out of the water. I also saw the Cactus Pup blind-boxes (at a Barnes and Noble, if anyone's interested), but that was after I spent my money on my second Unicorno, the name of the toy series.

In other news, the 3DS XL (or whatever it's going to be called) is scheduled for US release on the 19th of August. I'm very excited. I've waited through the XL and 3DS for this device. Time for an upgrade!

Woot

This has some sort of symbolism. Give me a minute to find it.

Yay! Right now I'm at my grandparent's house. My family and I left home yesterday, and are currently waiting to leave! Guess where we're going?

THEME PARKS!!! We'll be at King's Dominion tomorrow, and I'll be filming as well. Expect small teaser clips tomorrow night, if I don't pass out as soon as we get back to the hotel room. Day after that, we're at Busch Gardens. More filming and teaser clips. Don't expect fully compiled videos for another two weeks or so. It takes a lot of effort to edit!

Main thing is, lots of non-doll related stuff coming up. I'm really excited, and won't sleep for the two hours we have before we leave. INTIMIDATOR 305, I'M COMING FOR YA!!!

Beginning of a Pullip Custom

My little sister was really tired with her LOL Miku Pullip. Her wig was messy, and she just wasn't feeling her anymore. So, instead of selling her, she decided to customize her! She'll be re-chipped, re-wigged, and made a new outfit. Here's her being re-wigged.

Eyes closed......

Eyes open!

Here's her in a makeshift wig.

And on her shelf in my sister's room.

We still need to buy some more supplies before the next stage begins, and are far from being done. But, we are one step closer!

*Insert Cliche Title Here*

Artemis and Céline say hello :)

Anywho, somehow you stumbled upon my blog :) I will make the obligatory promise to post often about whatever topic is on my mind at that moment, such as Pullips, Sims, and school (and then disappear for three months, reappear, and apologize. Because that's what everyone does).

There actually is a lot coming up. Here's a list of things to look forwards to:
- Trip video of King's Dominion (theme park)
- Trip video of Busch Gardens, Williamsburg (another theme park)
- Trip video of my Disney cruise ( with the footage I've had since March........ I'm a bit late)
- Updates on my first Pullip custom
- Trip video of the LeviaTHON tour (coaster tour)
- Stopmotion videos
- Random pictures from around Orlando parks
- Whole bunch more

Lots of stuff. Stay tuned!
